You Matter

Kids Help Phone wouldn’t exist without our staff and volunteers. That’s why we launched You Matter — our organization-wide well-being strategy that has three key pillars: delivering programs and opportunities that promote well-being and work / life balance for all staff; providing direct support to frontline teams to help them manage the impacts of traumatic exposure; and creating programming and opportunities to help counselling staff develop as leaders within Kids Help Phone.

FUNDING ENABLES:

  • ongoing implementation of our You Matter strategy for all staff and volunteers
  • securing well-being benefits for staff, such as art therapy, yoga, gym memberships, etc.
  • investing in manager training to monitor traumatic exposure among frontline teams
  • conducting research on secondary trauma and empathic strain to help ensure supports meet the unique needs of frontline teams
  • creation of a virtual and in-person education program, learning hub and mentorship program

In the two years following the pandemic’s onset in March 2020, we supported young people over 17 million times.
